Best laid plans

Christmas always creates new memories to reflect on.  Our Christmas mornings are pretty laid back, just opening gifts and biscuits and gravy for breakfast.  This year we added family from Ohio and their two little kiddos.  Very fun to have little ones for Christmas morning, although my 25 and 21 year old are still pretty goofy and fun opening gifts.

After the morning mess is cleared, the preparations for dinner typically begins and I am a basket case trying to get everything done and manage to get a shower...........not this year.  We took a little field trip this year to the ER.  This was not in my plan. My daughter was having a reaction to her medication and giving her a scary irregular heart beat, so time to change plans.  After getting checked out and some peace of mind, we headed home making the turkey about 2 hours later than planned.  You know what.......who cares.

So this Christmas won't be right on schedule, the candles won't be lit around the house and I won't be putting any makeup on and my hair will be in a ponytail........I don't care.  With a lot of help from the crew, we finally sat down to a wonderful dinner and enjoyed our wonderful family.  It turned out to be the most laid back stress free Christmas evening I can remember.
