Snowman Family Floor Cloth

Snowman Family Floor Cloth
22” X 27”
This floor cloth is one of my holiday favorites.  A happy family stringing lights on feather trees.
Floor cloths are very durable, easy to clean and pet friendly. They are a wonderful way to add more art to your home....art you can walk on. I personally use floor cloths in most rooms of my home, including under the kitchen table. They all still look great! All of my work is created on raw heavy weight canvas.   I prepare the canvas for paint by preshrinking the fabric and then machine sewing a generous hem with mitered corners. The decorated side will have two to three coats of the base color before the designing process even begins. Sanding is done between coats and finally the design is painted. After paint cures I apply several coats of polyurethane to both sides. This will protect from daily use and moisture. The finishing touch is rubbing on and buffing off some Johnson's floor wax for extra protection.
$65.00 plus $10.00 Shipping
Please contact me at Susiewhc@gmail.com for questions or invoicing.  I prefer the versatility of Paypal so buyers can use credit cards, echecks or their Paypal accounts, but will accept personal check and money orders.

**Business name is only on the photograph, not on the product.  All art will be signed and dated.

Prim Magazine published my art!!!

That feeling when you are shopping at JoAnn Fabric and you pick up a magazine that you are published in.  It's so weird.  I'm used to looking at other people's work and being inspired.  The thought that someone might flip through the pages of this magazine and get inspired by my work.

It's a hot one

It's already 80 degrees at 6am in Florida!  Yep it's going to be hot today while I'm painting canvas in the garage.  Not looking forward to that at all, but I'm receiving a lot of Fall orders for table runners and floor cloths so I will just have to tough it out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.

I love my customers!

I love my customers!  I just received the most lovely review from my latest ETSY shipment.  She ordered the White Pumpkin table runner and requested a few little changes that I had no problem with.  It's already on her table in July!

Here is her review:

I am Sooooo delighted with my table runner, there should be more than 5 stars that light up above this review…I would tick them all ! The colours on the runner are just perfect, the Fall leaves and the bittersweet vine make you want to touch them, they look so real…I know it's July, but the table runner with the beautiful, white, pumpkins is going on my dining room table :) Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us...

My First Art Submission

I'm pretty excited and nervous about submitting some of my work for the Prim Magazine.  This is my first time so I don't know what to expect, but I've been encouraged by my family and some art friends to go for it.  I plan on doing more submissions throughout the year.  Wish me luck.

It's only just begun!!!

Third layer of base color.....now we wait.
Waiting for paint to dry, not one of my strengths.  I'm so excited to start designing this piece.

I'm doing a little time travel here, going back to the early 1800's when the coverlet was a useful and decorative possession to lay over the bed.  So instead of a weaving loom, I will weave with my paint brush and create a floorcloth/oyle cloth that mimics this time period. I am always inspired by quilt and coverlet patterns and don't set aside the time to create them.

This is going to be a Primitive Folk Art Trinkets and Treasures Marketplace exclusive.  I'm really honored to have been asked to be April's featured artist, and I hope you all will stop by PFATT on April 10th to check out all the amazing art. There is something for everyone.

What's your angle?

"Yes" to off center and to an angle

"No" to centered and straight
I decided to put my sunflower floor cloth on the table to show it's versatility.   Just because I sell it as a "floor cloth" doesn't mean you can't use it as a table topper.  My problem was that I couldn't decide how to display it.  For me personally it has to be on an angle.  Come to think of it, many things in my home are arranged on an angle.  Even at work, if you come in my office and straighten my visitor chair I will get up and move it back to its happy angle as soon as you leave.  Maybe I have a disorder???

Selling Blog alive! Adding new items daily

I've decided to reopen my selling blog.  This way there is a place you can go to see what is currently available.  I will combine  my products from both Willow Hollow Creations and The Irish Witch of Willow Hollow Creations shops.

Everything is hand made by me.  If it is an original design I'll make note of that as well.  I specialize in hand painted canvas decor.  These include, but are not limited to, floor cloths, table runners, table toppers, candle mats and coasters.  My favorite time of year is Fall, so you will see a lot of pumpkins hanging around.

I also enjoy soft and clay sculpture, and continue to develop in that area.

If you see anything that you are interested in, please contact me at Susiewhc@gmail.com

Spring Forward

Springing forward sounds nice, but I miss my hour!   I dread tomorrow morning's alarm going off at 4:30 knowing in my sleepy head that would be 3:30 just last week.  Oh well, give me a week of jet lag type of excuses and I'll get over it.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Carpe Vino - Seize the Wine!

I have to say, today was a beautiful weather day.  The first day in weeks where the humidity was low and there was a touch of coolness in the air.  I enjoyed the day even though I cleaned house. I'm still trying to catch up from last weeks craft show, somehow the house just goes to pot.

So now with a clean house, I am enjoying a glass or two of wine and putting my feet up.

These coasters are about 5"X5" and hand painted in the same way I create my floor cloths and table runners.

I'll start out by saying I'm sorry to all the people to the north that are buried in the snow.  We here in Florida have our air conditioners on and are not happy about it.  I miss the windows open with a cool breeze.   But we live in Florida and summer is already here.

This is a hand painted floor cloth.  Big bold sunflower to bring some Florida sunshine your way.

Dreaming at work

During my work week, I can find myself day dreaming about painting and creating (during my break of course).  I dream of owing my own store and filling it with hand made wonderful things.  Maybe one day, until then I will keep on keeping on.  I enjoy selling online and meeting people through the internet, there is a lot of nice people out there.

What's happening at Willow Hollow Creations???

Sorry all.  I've seemed to just drop off the face of the earth at times.  I think about blogging all the time, and then know that I really need to spend that time painting and creating.  I've just had a boost of energy and creative sparks.....new paintings in the very near future to show you.  In the meantime here are a couple of pieces that I painted while trying to figure out what to paint.....kinda ironic, don't ya think?

Christmas is put away.......

Jolly Snowman

Hand painted tree skirt around my tree

My Jolly Snowman was made for my mom for her birthday, I made a few other for gifts and wish I had created him a little sooner so I would have had a inventory.

My tree skirts I sell every year on Etsy, this one is mine.  I love how it holds it's shape under the tree.
