It's a hot one
It's already 80 degrees at 6am in Florida! Yep it's going to be hot today while I'm painting canvas in the garage. Not looking forward to that at all, but I'm receiving a lot of Fall orders for table runners and floor cloths so I will just have to tough it out.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.

Sunflower, my spirit flower
I couldn't resist buying the sunflower yesterday, she just spoke to me. Her petals were are closed and covering her face. So shy. Took her home and gave her a fresh cut and a drink and she just opened up. Beautiful spirit flower.

TGIF from Sunny HOT Florida
I'll start out by saying I'm sorry to all the people to the north that are buried in the snow. We here in Florida have our air conditioners on and are not happy about it. I miss the windows open with a cool breeze. But we live in Florida and summer is already here.
This is a hand painted floor cloth. Big bold sunflower to bring some Florida sunshine your way.

Post art show blues
Post art show and my studio area is a mess and so is my house. Going to take a break from painting to get things back in order. I'll be back on track by Thursday.
Here's one of my sunflower floorcloths that I sold at The Taste of the Cape this past weekend.

This 22" X 27" Floor cloth is all hand painted with a unique crackle background and pretty little flowers stretching their stems. There is so much texture in this piece and fits with earthy tones just perfectly. (Note: The name of the business and artist are a watermark and will not be present on your floor cloth)
Floor cloths are very durable, easy to clean and pet friendly. They are a wonderful way to add more art to your home....art you can walk on. I personally use floor cloths in most rooms of my home, including under the kitchen table. They all still look great!
I use a heavy weight canvas that I prepare for paint by preshrinking the fabric and hemming with mitered corners. These floor cloths lay flat.
I prime both sides of floor cloth and add two coats of base color to decorated side. Sanding is done between coats and finally the design is painted. After paint cures I apply several coats of polyurethane to both sides. This will protect from moisture and traffic.
Please contact me at Susiewhc@gmail.com for questions or invoicing. I prefer the versatility of Paypal so buyers can use credit cards, echecks or their Paypal accounts.
