Even in SWFL Fall has arrived.  Since we don't see drastic weather changes in Florida for each new season, we have to improvise.  I think we have to be more creative to bring that feeling into our homes.  This is why creating fall items for interior decor is my absolute favorite thing to do.  I could stay decorated in warm colors all year round.

 OOAK Sweetly Spooky Ghost Totem

Stands about 14” tall, base 6”

It looks like Jack is trapped in a cage and only the ghost has figured a way out. 

This is a OOAK item that I have hand sculpted out of paperclay.  I used a cage make do and covered the base with vintage Halloween cards.  The adornments are vintage like Halloween tinsel and tags.

The Crow and the Moon Table Topper

27" X 27" table topper

The Crow finds rest on a pumpkin and gazes at a full harvest moon.

From the mind of “The Irish Witch of Willow Hollow Creations” where  ….a little witch craft…..I mean, little witches that I craft can be found.

 This will look great on any style table, square or round.  I love using a table topper as an alternative to the table runner or place mats.  It is such a great way to bring art to your table.

I use a heavy weight canvas that I prepare for paint by preshrinking the fabric and hemming with mitered corners.

I prime both sides the table square and add two coats of base color to decorated side. Sanding is done between coats and finally the design is painted. After paint cures I apply several coats of polyurethane to both sides. This will protect from moisture. The finishing touch is rubbing on and buffing off some Johnson's floor wax for extra protection.

This hand painted table runner is 40" X 15". Stars and stripes are all hand pained.

I start by pre-shrinking the canvas and machine stitching a 1" hem. After the design is done the table runner is protected with 3 coats of polyurethane on both sides.

This is a great way to decorate your table, breakfast bar or even your coffee table.

Salt Box House

This is a blast from the past.  Years ago I made and sold these Salt Box Houses at craft fairs.  I did enjoy making them and still have my templet that I created.  I think I might make a few more and see how it goes.  I'll change them up a bit, but I liked the size of them.

Here is a couple of customer pictures from a wholesale order I did.  I love it when you can see that your customer was excited enough to take pictures as soon as they opened the packages.  I hope these floor cloths sell well in her shoppe.

The finished bag is about 7 X 8"  and has three compartments. The cross the body strap is approximately   24".  Holds a cell phone so nicely in its front pocket.

This is the perfect bag to use when going out antiquing, flee markets or shopping.  I love using mine everyday.

Fabrics are limited but will create with similar fabrics as needed.  This bag has been selling quickly on my social network site..

I think we are looking at the beginning of a very pretty day in Florida.  The humidity is low and it is slightly cooler out.  I hope it will just last though out the day so I can paint floor cloths and actually have the paint dry.

Customer emails me out blue

This is a floor cloth I did a few years back and sold on ETSY.  Today I got an email from the customer who purchased it so long ago.  She wanted to let me know she still is enjoying as much as the day she got it.  That made my day.

Turned the A/C back on

Sorry to all my northern friends, but it's warm in Florida.  I would probably enjoy it if I could just relax and the beach, but no time for that right now.  Out to the studio to cut and hem canvas for some floor cloths.

Movie Day

I took some time off from prepping canvas for my floor cloth order...it had to dry anyway. 

My daughter and I went to see Frozen.  Can I just say this movie was absolutely amazing.  The artistic images were beyond my imagination.  Good job Disney Animators.  The story and the music was also outstanding.  Can't wait until it becomes a Broadway Show.

Now back to stretching canvas.  

Don't be afraid of a floor cloth!

Floor cloths are such a hard thing to get people to buy into.  They worry about walking on them! Well I can tell you that I have been using my floor cloths in my home for many years and they are super durable.  They add a burst of color to your room, easy to maintain and hard to ruin.  

I am so happy to say that I just received a large order for floor cloths today.  So happy about this.  They will be making a journey to an Rhode Island Primitive Shoppe.  

Yay for Friday

I really am blessed to have a day job that pays the bills and a home job that add support to the day job.  Today I sit here at my computer working up some wholesale prices for a new client, what an amazing feeling.  Wish me luck that it all works out.

Clearing and Cleaning

After many weeks of planning, my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary Party was wonderful.  My art areas on the other hand were not.  Yesterday was all about cleaning up my garage work space where I create my floor cloths.  What a huge job it became, but I feel more organized and ready to start.  Today will be about my "inside" art room.  Small space + too much stuff = another big project.

I have hand painted and designed this floor cloth to welcome friends and family to your door during the Holiday Season.

This happy family is stringing lights on a few feather trees.

All of my floor cloths are made with #8 canvas.  I start by pre-shrinking the canvas and machine stitching a 2" mitered hem. The canvas is then primed on both sides.  The design is protected with 4 to 5 coats of polyurethane.  This is also applied the to underside of the floor cloth to protect from moisture.  I finish by adding a layer of floor wax for extra protection.  Floor cloths are very durable and require minimal care, just sweep and mop.

Well it's the first day of Fall and I can make believe I feel it in the air here in South West Florida.  A girl can dream, right???

These happy little guys were sent off to a happy customer.  They hand on the wall and are illuminated with a battery operated tea light.  So darn cute for Halloween.
